Pig Pull 2011

So, I've been working on quite a few projects since my last post (which was FOREVER ago, I know) that I was super excited to share. I took plenty of pictures (about 400) and sat down to import them to my computer. Then...

I. LOST. ALL. OF. THEM.

I know, right? I completely freaked out. But what's done is done, so I apologize for not being able to share those projects with you. :o(

On the brighter side of things, this past weekend was the annual Barr Family Pig Pull. My father's best friend since, oh, I dunno, the beginning of time, is a Matt Barr--we call him Uncle Matt. Every year since as far back as I can remember, his family hosts a ginormous, themed pig roast. This year's theme?

Halloween!

And as much as we all love to put on a nice, stuffy Halloween costume on a 90 degree August day, my family and I decided to incorporate our children's costumes into their clothing for the day.

So I made these super cute jack-o-lantern pillowcase dresses and korker ribbon bows for the girls.

And stenciled jack-o-lantern faces onto t-shirts for the boys.

Collectively, our children attended the party as "The Pumpkin Patch." Corny? All right, a little. But uber cute, right?

The day was so much fun and the kids certainly enjoyed it. Okay, so they didn't enjoy posing for the group photo, but after repositioning...

And bribes...

And repositioning...

And tears...
And more repositioning...

They were allowed to have plenty of fun. Just look at all the things that tired them out so Mommies and Daddies could party later made lots of great memories.

And now the kids have cute little outfits to wear during Halloween season. :o)

  6. The stencilled jack-o-lantern faces are a great idea on both the dresses and t-shirts. The black and orange is a fabulous colour combination. Sorry about losing all those photos:-( Thanks for linking up...
